In 1999, I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology, History, and Women’s Studies at the University of Georgia in the United States.  From 2000-2002, I completed two years of graduate studies in Philosophy and Cultural Analysis at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands before receiving a Masters Degree in Philosophy from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada in 2006.  I then began studies towards a Doctoral degree in Philosophy at York University in Toronto, Canada (2006-2009) and completed Cambridge CELTA English Language teaching certification in 2010.

While at Concordia University and York University from 2004-2010, I taught courses in Philosophy, Humanities, and Political Science. From 2010-2013, I taught English as a Second Language at Instituto Exclusivo in La Paz, Bolivia, as well as LSC-Language Studies Canada in Montreal, Canada and Brighton College in Vancouver, Canada.  Most recently before coming to Lanzhou, I have taught Academic English and Critical Thinking for two and a half years from 2013-2015 at Brighton College and Alexander College in Vancouver, Canada.
